Default Governance or sustaitability?

For business best interest, when you design,construct or operate; which driveres weigth more:

compliance (SEC,SOX, ITIL, CoBIT, HIPAA.....) or

sustaintability (craddle to tomb, carbon footprint, renewable energy generation,....)

It is dependant on the owner of the site.

In my current position, personally, I would say sustainability.
If your data center space is not working, there is no data, so there is no risk of non-compliance, and no company to suffer the consequences of non-compliance.
